The MotoGP Catalonia GP had to be interrupted by a red flag due to a very serious accident. This Sunday (17), Álex Márquez hit the rear of Pedro Acosta, went off the track, and had his bike destroyed.

The race was on lap 12 of 24 scheduled. Acosta had been leading since the start, with the youngest of the Márquez clan in second and chasing to try to take the first position in the battle.
However, Álex ended up hitting Pedro’s rear, and following the exit of turn 9 and the descent to turn 10, the Spaniard went off the track and upon stepping on the gravel trap, fell and his bike ended up breaking apart on the track. As a result, the race was immediately interrupted.
Not only that, a piece also hit Fabio di Giannantonio, who also ended up going down. In the replay, it was possible to see the Italian holding his hand in apparent pain. Also, Pedro needed help from other competitors to return to the pits with his damaged bike.

With the initial scare, the medical team attended to the fallen competitor. Shortly after, information indicated that all involved competitors were conscious. Except for Márquez, everyone could restart the race in the order of lap 11, the previous lap, and there would be 13 more laps.
