Máximo Quiles won the Hungarian GP on Sunday (7), the eighth round of the 2026 Moto3 season, held at Balaton Park. The Aspar rider fought a battle for first place with David Almansa, who started from pole position and maintained the lead until the seventh of the 20 laps, when he was overtaken. Quiles reached five victories in eight races.

Second position ended up in the hands of Almansa, the Intact GP rider who sought to stay in the fight for victory, seeing Quiles pull away from the 13th lap. The podium also featured Álvaro Carpe, who took third position with an Ajo bike after a tough battle for this spot. Brian Uriarte, from Ajo, was fourth, followed by Rico Salmela, fifth with Tech3.
Adrián Cruces, a rider for CIP, closed the dispute in sixth position, followed by Marco Morelli, seventh with the other Aspar bike. Jesús Ríos, from Snipers, was eighth, while Casey O’Gorman, from SIC58, crossed the finish line in ninth. Adrian Fernández, from Leopard Racing, completed the list of the top ten.
Marco Morelli finished the race in sixth place with the other Aspar bike, followed by Jesús Ríos, seventh with Snipers. Joel Esteban, who crashed on the opening lap, recovered to finish eighth with MTA, with Adrian Fernández, from Leopard Racing, in ninth. The top 10 was completed by Casey O’Gorman, a SIC58 rider.

The race featured several crashes. Guido Pini and Joel Esteban found themselves in turn 2 on the very first lap, while, on the same lap, Hakim Danish and Ruche Moodley crashed shortly after. On the tenth lap, Nicola Carraro crashed in turn 1 and was another to leave the race.
On the final lap, Brian Uriarte, David Muñoz, and Valentín Perrone suffered a strong accident while disputing third position, an incident that caused the race to be ended under a red flag, and the final result taken into account was that of the completion of lap 19.
Moto3 will continue on June 21, when it heads to the Brno circuit for the Czech Republic GP.
