Izán Guevara won on the morning of this Sunday (10) the French GP, the fifth round of the 2026 Moto2 season. The Pramac rider started from pole position at the Le Mans circuit and maintained the first position throughout a race that featured two starts and was held entirely on a dry track, triumphing for the first time this year.

The contest at Le Mans lasted only nine laps of the initially planned 22. After the Moto3 race, held on a wet track, the race direction reduced the contest to 14 laps. But, a red flag on the third lap, after Jorge Navarro’s high side crash on the straight, caused the race to be counted as nine laps.
Second place went to Manuel González, Intact GP rider who at no point could keep up with Guevara’s pace. Iván Ortolá, a rider representing MSI, completed the podium in third place. Alonso López, on a Gresini bike, was fourth, while David Alonso, from Aspar, closed the list of the top five.
Joe Roberts, with equipment from the American Racing Team, finished sixth, ahead of Celestino Vietti, seventh with SpeedRS. Senna Agius, from Intact GP, was eighth, with Filip Salac, from the American Racing Team, crossing the finish line in ninth. Arón Canet, from Marc VDS, was tenth.

The race featured crashes. Daniel Holgado, who started from second position, suffered a high side still on the first lap of the contest. On the third lap, it was Navarro’s turn to fall on the straight. Shortly after, the race direction stopped the race after marshals were at the spot where the Spaniard fell, unable to safely return to their posts.
On the first lap after the race resumed, Barry Baltus crashed, leaving the contest. On the second lap, Collin Veijer crashed in an incident that also involved David Muñoz, who did not fall. The incident will be investigated after the race, Ayumu Sasaki left the contest after crashing on lap 5 and was another to leave the race at Le Mans.
The next Moto2 round will be held next Sunday (17), with the Catalan GP, a race scheduled for the Circuit de Barcelona.
