David Alonso secured pole position this Saturday (28) for the United States GP, the third round of the 2026 Moto2 season. In the final phase of qualifying held this afternoon at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, the Aspar rider recorded a best lap of 2min05s203, remaining unbeaten by his rivals and taking the top spot.

Second place went to Barry Baltus, the Fantic Racing rider who, despite a crash at the end, secured a spot on the front row, 0s144 behind Alonso. Third place went to Alonso López, the Gresini rider. Ángel Piqueras will start fourth with MSI, followed by Celestino Vietti of SpeedRS and Senna Agius of Intact GP.
Alex Escrig, on a KLINT bike, will start from seventh place, leading a third row that will also feature Izán Guevara of Pramac and Collin Veijer of Ajo. Manuel González, with Intact GP equipment, will start from tenth position, while home rider Joe Roberts starts 11º with the American Racing Team, the team of Filip Salac, who rounds out the top-12.

The session saw a red flag in Q1 after Ayumu Sasaki crashed in the S-section of the circuit and his bike remained stranded in the middle of the track. No one was injured, and the session resumed shortly after.
The Moto2 United States GP will be held this Sunday (29), with the start scheduled for 15h15.
