Formula 1 is back. After a week without races, the category returns between July 17 and 19 for the Belgian Grand Prix, the tenth round of the 2026 season. The venue will be the traditional Spa-Francorchamps circuit, one of the most historic and challenging tracks in world motorsport.

The championship arrives in Belgium after a busy stop at Silverstone. Charles Leclerc won the British GP, with George Russell in second place and Lewis Hamilton completing the podium in third. The result ended Mercedes’ recent streak and put Ferrari back at the center of the fight for the top positions.

The Belgian round also opens a double-header before the European summer break. One week after Spa-Francorchamps, Formula 1 will head to the Hungarian GP, scheduled for July 24 to 26. With two consecutive races, teams and drivers will have little time to react to any difficulties encountered in Belgium.
Spa-Francorchamps is the longest circuit on the calendar, with just over seven kilometers per lap. The layout combines long straights, significant elevation changes, and high-speed corners such as Eau Rouge, Raidillon, Pouhon, and Blanchimont. These characteristics require a delicate compromise in car setup between straight-line speed and stability in fast sections.
The weather is another element that traditionally affects the Belgian GP. Due to the track’s length and the circuit’s location in the Ardennes region, it is possible to find rain in one part of the track while another sector remains dry, increasing the difficulty of strategic decisions.
