Freddie Slater was the fastest driver in the only free practice session for the sixth round of Formula 3. In the activity held on Friday morning at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, the Trident driver and current championship runner-up recorded his best lap time of 2min06s311, not being surpassed by his rivals.

The second position went to Theóphile Nael, a Campos Racing driver who was 0.151 seconds slower than Slater. Maciej Gladysz, with ART Grand Prix, was the third best, followed by Ernesto Rivera, fourth with Campos Racing, a team that saw Ugo Ugochukwu, the championship leader, finish the session in fifth place.
Louis Sharp, with a car prepared by Prema, recorded the sixth best time, ahead of Taito Kato, seventh with ART Grand Prix. Tuukka Taponen, from MP Motorsport, finished the activity in eighth position. Nicola Lacorte, with DAMS, was ninth, while Christian Ho, with a Rodin Motorsport car, closed the top 10.

The Brazilians had only modest performances in this first activity of the weekend. Fernando Barrichello, with an AIX Racing car, finished the free practice in 23rd position. Pedro Clerot, a driver for Rodin Motorsport and who appears in the top 10 of the championship, was 29th in this session.
From 10 a.m., qualifying will be held to determine the starting positions for the two races. The Sprint is scheduled for 5 a.m. on Saturday, while the main race takes place on Sunday, starting at 3:30 a.m.
