Ernesto Rivera was the fastest driver in the only free practice session for the fifth round of Formula 3, held on the morning of this Friday (3) at the Silverstone circuit in England. The Mexican, a Campos Racing driver, was second on the track with a time of 1min46s319, but saw Freddie Slater, the fastest in the session, disqualified for not having the minimum amount of fuel in his car.

The second position went to Matteo de Palo, a Trident driver who was 0.054 seconds slower than Rivera. Hiyo Yamakoshi completed the practice with the third-best time in a Van Amersfoort car, a team that saw Enzo Deligny close the session with the fourth-best time. Theóphile Nael, with Campos Racing, was fifth.
Fionn McLaughlin, with a Hitech car, closed the session with the sixth-best time, ahead of Ugo Ugochukwu, championship leader and seventh fastest with Campos Racing. Noah Stromsted, from Trident, finished the practice in eighth, with Louis Sharp, from Prema, in ninth. Jin Nakamura, from Prema, rounds out the top ten.

The Brazilian drivers on the grid had rather discreet performances in the only free practice of the weekend. Pedro Clerot, with a Rodin Motorsport car, was 26th in the session. Fernando Barrichello, who defends the AIX Racing team, finished the free practice with the 28th best time at the end of the 45 minutes of open track.
From 10 a.m. this Friday, the qualifying session will be held to determine the starting positions for the two races of the weekend. The Sprint is scheduled for this Saturday at 5:35 a.m., while the main race takes place on Sunday at 4:25 a.m.
