F2: Rafael Câmara leads Thursday testing in Barcelona

Rafael Câmara was the fastest driver on the final day of Formula 2 pre-season activities, held at the Barcelona Circuit in Spain. After leading the second of the three test days, the Invicta driver and current Formula 3 champion repeated the performance this Thursday (19), completing 89 laps and setting a time of 1min23s252 in the morning, which was not surpassed by anyone.

Second place ended up in the hands of Noel León, a Campos Racing driver who was 0s274 behind Câmara. Nikola Tsolov, with the other Campos car, closed the session with the third fastest time, followed by Laurens Van Hoepen, fourth with Trident. The top five group was completed by Gabriele Mini, who drives for MP Motorsport.

Colton Herta set the sixth fastest time with Hitech equipment, finishing ahead of Mari Boya, seventh with Prema. Ritomo Miyata, driving for Hitech, completed Thursday with the eighth best mark, while Dino Beganovic, a DAMS driver, was ninth. The list of the ten fastest was completed by Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, of ART Grand Prix.

On a day when the best marks of the 22 drivers were obtained in the morning, Emmo Fittipaldi closed his participation in the Formula 2 pre-season with the 19th time in an AIX car, after completing 79 laps and finishing 1s786 away from Câmara’s time. The fastest in the afternoon was Cian Shields, Fittipaldi’s teammate, who ended the day with the 20th overall time.

After the conclusion of the pre-season tests, Formula 2 will meet again on March 6, 7, and 8, when it holds the opening of the 2026 championship, in a double-header scheduled for the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne, Australia.
