Joshua Durksen won on Saturday (5) the Sprint that opened the tenth round of the 2026 Formula 2 season. The Invicta Racing driver started from ninth position and took the lead of the race at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, in Italy, on the ninth lap, overtaking John Bennett. From there, the Paraguayan held off his rival to take the victory.

Second place went to Bennett, a Trident driver who crossed the finish line just over a second behind Durksen. The podium was completed by Oliver Goethe, third with MP Motorsport. Noel León finished the race in fourth place, ahead of his teammate and championship leader Nikola Tsolov, who was fifth.
Martinius Stenshorne, with a Rodin car, was sixth, followed by his teammate Alexander Dunne, seventh best. The points zone was completed by Laurens van Hoepen, a Trident driver. Ritomo Miyata, from Hitech, and Gabriele Mini, from MP Motorsport, closed the top 10. Emmo Fittipaldi was 16th with an AIX Racing car.

The race featured a Safety Car deployment. Rafael Câmara spun on the fourth lap after receiving a touch from Nico Varrone, a Van Amersfoort driver, and stalled the car on the track. Race control was forced to deploy the Safety Car to remove the Brazilian Invicta Racing car. On the 17th lap, Roman Bilinski spun with the DAMS car, causing another neutralization.
Formula 2 concludes its visit to the Autodromo Nazionale Monza this Sunday (6) with the main race, scheduled for 4:30 AM.
