Joshua Dursen won on Saturday (18) the Sprint that opened the eighth round of the 2026 Formula 2 season, held at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium. The Paraguayan, driver for Invicta Racing, overtook Martinius Stenshorne on the 11th of 18 laps and even in a restart on the final lap was not threatened, triumphing for the second time this year.

Second place went to Stenshorne, driver for Rodin Motorsport who finished six tenths behind the winner. The podium was completed by Dino Beganovic, third with a DAMS car. Championship leader Nikola Tsolov was fourth with Campos Racing, while Alexander Dunne, from Rodin Motorsport, completed the top 5.

Rafael Câmara, Brazilian from Invicta Racing, crossed the finish line in sixth after starting from tenth position, followed by Roman Bilinski, seventh with a DAMS car. Oliver Goethe, driver for MP Motorsport, was eighth, closing the points zone, while Sebastian Montoya was ninth with Prema after starting from pole and opening the final lap in fourth. Laurens van Hoepen, from Trident, was tenth. Emmo Fittipaldi finished 14th with AIX.
The race featured the Safety Car deployment twice. The first time, Cian Shields crashed with the AIX Racing car after a position battle with Ritomo Miyata, who moments before had gone off track. Then, on lap 14, John Bennett spun alone with the Trident car and stopped on the circuit, causing another neutralization.

The race also had an important retirement for the championship. Gabriele Mini had problems with the equipment prepared by MP Motorsport and headed to the pits, leaving the competition. The Italian is the current vice-leader of the standings in the main feeder category to Formula 1.

Formula 2 concludes its visit to the Spa-Francorchamps circuit this Sunday (19), when the main race will be held. The start is scheduled for 5 a.m.
