Even being one of the most consistent critics of the current rules, the four-time world champion highlighted a positive point in the recent process. For him, communication between drivers, the FIA, and Formula 1 itself has evolved and may pave the way for more relevant changes in the future.
“The positive side is that we had good meetings with Formula 1 and the FIA. I think this is a starting point for the future,” Verstappen said, emphasizing that drivers have the ability to contribute to making the sport more competitive and interesting.
Despite this, the Dutchman made it clear that the changes implemented now are not enough. “With the changes made, it’s more like a small adjustment. In the end, it’s a very complex and political sport. Everyone tried to do something, but it’s not going to change the world,” he said.

Verstappen also commented that the adjustments still do not allow the more aggressive driving style he advocates. According to him, the ideal scenario is still far away. “It’s not what we need to really go to the limit all the time. I hope that next year we can have really big changes,” he added.
The modifications continue to generate different opinions among the drivers. While some adopt a more cautious tone, others have been more critical by pointing out structural flaws in the current Formula 1 regulations.
