Max Verstappen stated that Red Bull’s priority for the second half of the 2026 Formula 1 season should be to increase the overall performance of the RB22, as well as to find a solution for the loss of performance the team has been facing throughout race weekends.

The Dutchman achieved his second consecutive podium at the Hungarian GP, but unlike what happened in Austria, he was not in a position to fight for the win.
When asked what Red Bull needs to improve, Verstappen went straight to pointing out the main problems of the car. “First we need to find more overall performance. Then, we need to solve our problems, because sometimes we simply lose performance during a weekend, or even from the start to the end of the race. That is also a very important priority,” he said.

The four-time world champion also commented on the Red Bull Powertrains/Ford power unit and admitted he would like to see updates using the Additional Development and Upgrade Opportunities (ADUO) system.
“I would also love to have some updates through ADUO. Somehow, yes. But I really don’t know about that. We will evaluate again after the summer break,” Verstappen added.
