Max Verstappen praised the podium achieved at this Sunday’s (24) Formula 1 Canadian GP, which he described as “extremely positive.”

The Red Bull driver started from sixth position in Montreal, climbed up to second place and after an exciting battle against Lewis Hamilton, finished in third position.
Then, after having climbed the F1 podium for the first time in 2026, when asked if he was satisfied, the four-time world champion said “yes, I think so. I mean, I had some nice battles out there. Racing back in front is always better, right?”

“And for us, achieving our first podium, of course, is very positive. I am very happy with that, and also with the great battle with Lewis Hamilton at the end. So, we kept pushing until the finish line, and yes, in a weekend where it’s not so easy to get things right, being on the podium here is extremely positive, so naturally, I am very happy with that,” he added.
When discussing what is necessary to catch up with Red Bull’s rivals, Verstappen pointed out that “keep working and improving compared to the competition — that’s the goal. But we’ll see in the next races what we can do.”
