Williams had a very positive Miami Grand Prix in Formula 1. Both Carlos Sainz and Alexander Albon finished in the points zone and for the Spaniard, despite the distance to the teams ahead, progress is starting to show.

The start of the British team’s campaign was far from expected. Missing the shakedown in Barcelona due to car weight issues, the first stages were also tough due to a delay in development.
It was only now in Miami that things seem to be starting to move and Sainz believes the good result is a positive indicator, as well as a good base to continue the work.

“I think the team made a great effort in the last few weeks to achieve this result, and it shows that when you do the right things, the results start to improve,” added Sainz.
“Clearly, this weekend, I think we were the sixth fastest, but Alpine is 20s ahead of us. It would be 25s to 30s without the safety car. So, for Alpine, there is still a big gap, and for the leaders, I can’t even say. We need to keep our heads down, make this our new base, and start improving,” he concluded.
