Red Bull Racing is about to add a familiar surname to its young driver program. Robin Raikkonen, son of former driver and 2007 Formula 1 champion Kimi Raikkonen, is expected to be signed by the team to receive support at the start of his motorsport career.

According to RacingNews365, Red Bull intends to include Robin in its junior program. At eleven years old, the Finn still races in Karting and is a few years away from reaching single-seater categories, but he has already attracted the attention of the team’s development structure.
The Raikkonen family is in Monza this weekend for the Italian GP and was seen entering the Red Bull motorhome. The meeting took place at a time when some of the organization’s top executives are also at the circuit, including co-owner Chalerm Yoovidhya and Oliver Mintzlaff, CEO of Corporate Projects and New Investments.

An official announcement of Robin’s signing is expected soon. Kimi has closely followed his son’s journey, and over the past year, he has posted several images on social media related to Robin’s Karting activities.
Red Bull has maintained its young driver program for over two decades and has used the structure to bring several competitors to F1. The organization has also recently undergone changes in its structure, with the arrival of Gwen Lagrue as program director, and the announced hiring of Tom McCullough as head of competition starting in 2027.
