The two-time champion has faced a very complicated season with a less competitive team under these new regulations. This has raised doubts about his future in the sport, putting a probable retirement at the end of the year in the spotlight.
For this weekend in Hungary, Aston Martin brought the first major update package with 16 new components, with Alonso finding reasons to be optimistic after the first practice sessions. And for Newey, the Spaniard will continue with the team.

“Obviously, Fernando is an incredible driver. He brings an enormous contribution to the team, both through his feedback and his ability. Therefore, for us, this is certainly important. I am quite confident that Fernando is enjoying his time with us and that we will continue our relationship,” he said.
