Juan Pablo Montoya commented on Formula 1’s decision to hold the 2026 Bahrain GP at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia, highlighting that it is one of his favorite tracks.

The calendar for this championship had to undergo a series of adaptations. In April, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia had to be canceled due to the entire war in the Middle East.
However, F1 found a solution, or almost: in October, the Sepang circuit will host the Sakhir round, and although it is in Malaysia, it will be called the Bahrain GP.

Montoya agreed with the decision to choose the Malaysian track. “It’s amazing. I have raced there and it’s something out of the ordinary. Honestly, it’s my favorite track in all of Formula 1. If you ask me what my favorite circuit is, it’s this one,” he said.
“You need a lot of courage to be fast there. It’s not that the high-speed corners can’t be taken flat out; in fact, you can take them practically flat out if you have enough courage, or madness, to try. Many times I managed to get through, but many times I also ended up off the track,” he added.
