The Frenchman suffered a wrist injury during a boxing training session in the category’s summer break. Since then, he has been recovering but had to miss the Dutch, Italian, and Spanish GPs, being replaced by Liam Lawson – at Racing Bulls, Yuki Tsunoda was called up.

According to information brought by GPblog, it is still uncertain when Max Verstappen’s teammate will be able to return to his F1 car – the next race on the calendar is the Azerbaijan GP, which takes place next week.

Hadjar has been traveling with Red Bull and during the Spanish GP, Mekies said that “Isack is fine. He is downstairs. Jokes aside, there is nothing wrong with Isack’s recovery. I think we have learned that the recovery time is standard for the type of injury he suffered. Therefore, we will maintain the same approach we have been adopting.”

“You know, we will assess the situation in a week. We have a whole week, or a little more than that, to evaluate the condition, see how he feels and then put him in the simulator to expose him to the real demands of driving,” he continued.

“If he feels close to 100%, we move forward. If we feel the recovery is not complete, we will maintain our approach of prioritizing his recovery. What we do not want is, with a rushed return, to compromise his ability to return to 100% in the long term,” he continued.
