Charles Leclerc spoke about the incident that cost him a podium at the end of the Miami Formula 1 GP. The Monegasque took responsibility for spinning in the final laps of the race.

The Ferrari driver showed himself to be a strong candidate to finish among the top three. However, everything slipped out of his hands when he spun and lightly hit the tire barrier at turn 17 while battling with Oscar Piastri.
In the end, he crossed the finish line only in sixth place, as he was passed by George Russell and Max Verstappen. Commenting on the incident, he told GPblog that “I mean, the damage was significant. To say exactly what the damage was, I’m not sure. I’m almost certain there was a puncture; there was probably also some suspension damage, as I couldn’t turn right anymore. So, yes, I’m very disappointed in myself. It’s entirely my fault and it was a mistake.”

“Obviously, I need to analyze this because, with these cars, there is always some doubt about how much energy is distributed and, considering it was the last lap, maybe there was a bit more energy on the exit of that corner, since you need to finish the lap with that amount of energy,” he said.
“But that is no excuse whatsoever. It’s entirely my fault and that is unacceptable. I need to analyze this,” he concluded.
