Charles Leclerc negatively assessed his session in the Sprint qualifying for the Formula 1 Chinese GP, after finishing only in sixth position.

The Ferrari driver explained that he faced a problem during his second attempt in SQ3, which compromised the final result in the session: “It wasn’t a great session. Unfortunately, I lost half a second on the back straight on my second lap in SQ3, and we will need to analyze the reason to ensure we can come back stronger tomorrow,” Leclerc stated.
Despite the frustration with the session, the Monegasque believes that the performance can be better during the Sprint race on Saturday: “I believe we can be a bit stronger in the Sprint race than we were today,” he said.

Even so, Leclerc acknowledged that the cars in front still have an advantage at this point in the weekend: “The leaders still seem to be a step ahead, so let’s see what we can do to try and challenge them,” the Monegasque driver concluded.
