The Italian press has once again put pressure on the future of Frédéric Vasseur at the helm of Ferrari in Formula 1, especially after the outcome of the Italian GP and the presence of John Elkann and CEO Benedetto Vigna.

Daniele Dallera, journalist from Corriere della Sera, argued that renewing Fred’s contract does not remove the pressure from the manager. “His future as team principal is uncertain. There is no Plan B beyond the French manager,” adding that both the team principal and the project are under scrutiny.
Meanwhile, in Corriere dello Sport, Fulvio Solm was even harsher and said that Vasseur should no longer make decisions at Ferrari in F1, but rather president Elkann. And according to Grandprix.com, Solms also said that the manager needs to decide rules before the race rather than explain afterwards.
Leo Turrini, a veteran in Ferrari coverage, placed all the responsibility on Fred. “If he does not succeed, we all understand what needs to be done.”

The Maranello team left Monza with a better result brought by Lewis Hamilton, a sixth place. Charles Leclerc retired as early as the fourth lap after crashing hard into the protective wall. The duo, however, collided at the start in a fight for position.
“We will come back next week much stronger,” said Vasseur after the race in Monza.
