Formula 1 is holding an unprecedented stage in its history this weekend. Between September 11 and 13, the Spanish GP marks the debut of Madring, the new Madrid circuit that hosts for the first time drivers and teams from the main category of world motorsport.

The Spanish race takes place following the Italian GP and presents the grid with a completely different challenge. After Monza, one of the most traditional and well-known circuits on the calendar, F1 arrives at a track for which there are no previous competition references in the category.
Located in the IFEMA Madrid region, Madring is a semi-permanent circuit that combines urban sectors with sections developed specifically for racing. Since it is a new track, adaptation will be one of the main elements of the weekend.
Free practice sessions gain special importance. Drivers will need to quickly find the limits of the circuit, while teams will work on setting definitions and understanding tire behavior. The evolution of the asphalt between Friday and qualifying may also cause significant changes in grip levels.
The weekend will be held in the conventional format. The schedule starts on Friday (11) with FP1 at 8:30 am and FP2 at noon. On Saturday (12), the last free practice is scheduled for 7:30 am, while qualifying that will define the first grid in F1 history at Madring starts at 11 am.

The race takes place on Sunday (13), starting at 10 am, always Brasília time. There will be 57 laps to determine the first winner of Formula 1 at the new Spanish circuit.
