The Canadian Formula 1 GP, held on Sunday (24), marked Lewis Hamilton’s best result since his arrival at Ferrari. After finishing the race in second place, the seven-time world champion celebrated and was moved by the performance at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, which featured an intense battle with Max Verstappen in the final laps.

Hamilton stated that Ferrari has been able to improve the car over the last stages, a factor that increased his confidence on the track: “I have felt that I am on the rise, and the team has done a really incredible job refining the car,” he told Sky Sports F1. “For us to be up there fighting, and also to finally have a good fight with Max [Verstappen]. So, I am very, very grateful and just so, so happy.”
Since the start of the 2026 F1 season, Hamilton has been showing a more confident tone after a period of adaptation to Ferrari. Despite criticism and retirement speculation, the Briton assured that he remains motivated. “I really hope to continue with this performance. I am much happier and more comfortable in the car. The feeling is much more like before.”

Hamilton also summed up the emotion for the result achieved at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve: “Amazing, honestly, I am so, so happy. A good race day and, overall, a very solid weekend.”
