The Brit was the first to retire with engine problems. After the red flag period, when he was going to the grid, his car stopped and the restart had to be delayed. “We had a good start and a good first lap and then, of course, the red flag came out,” he said.
“After that, the engine shut off on the formation lap and, since we still haven’t had track time with the car, we’re not absolutely sure what the problem was; from my side, I felt a total shutdown, which is a shame. It was a really horrible weekend, it wasn’t the return we wanted, but we will have some updates next week and I really hope they can improve our performance,” he continued.

The Frenchman retired in the final laps, with his car stopping in the middle of the track and causing a virtual safety car. “We haven’t had reliability issues this year; this is the first, and we think it’s related to the power unit, but we will need to investigate to understand better,” he said.
“Both cars had problems, so neither of us finished the race, but that wouldn’t have changed much anyway, since we weren’t in the points zone. Updates are coming, they are necessary, so we will see what the impact will be,” he concluded.
