Ferrari will take advantage of the Formula 1 break in April to intensify the development of its car. The Italian team has scheduled two tests with the SF-25, starting this week at the Mugello circuit.

This decision comes after the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian GPs due to the war in the Middle East, which created a break of approximately one month in the category’s calendar. With this, the Italian team seeks to take advantage of the extra time to advance development before the season returns in Miami.
The first test will be held in Mugello for two days with the TPC program, intended for cars from previous seasons. Ferrari will use the SF-25, the 2025 model, with test and development drivers who work in the team’s simulator.
Antonio Giovinazzi, Arthur Leclerc and Antonio Fuoco will be responsible for driving the car. The work will be focused on training and data collection to help in the evolution of the current project.
With the introduction of the 2026 regulations, current cars are quite different from the ground-effect models used previously. Therefore, the FIA has authorized teams to use cars from the previous year in TPC tests, something that previously required models at least two years old.

After the work in Mugello, Ferrari will head to the Monza circuit, where it will conduct a second test, this time on a ‘filming day’ with the current car. The chosen date, according to information, is April 21, and the objective goes beyond the production of promotional content.
The test in Monza will feature regular drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. Within the 200 km allowed by the regulations, the team intends to evaluate the behavior of the SF-26 on a demanding circuit for energy recovery.
During this activity, Ferrari is also expected to use the so-called ‘Macarena’ wing, which will be part of the aerodynamic package planned to debut at the Miami GP when the season resumes on May 03. The evaluation of this component will be important to validate aerodynamic progress.
Additionally, the team will also have a test with Pirelli at the Fiorano circuit, focused on wet tires. The activity had been previously postponed and will now be carried out as part of the development for the 2026 Formula 1 season.
