Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso will be the main names in the FIA press conference schedule before the first new Spanish GP in Madrid. Formula 1 returns to the Spanish capital 45 years after the last race in Jarama, held in 1981.

The highlight will be even greater for Sainz, who was born in Madrid and will have the opportunity to race in his hometown. Despite the special significance of the event, the two drivers arrive at the weekend without great expectations due to the performance of Williams and Aston Martin this season.
The press conference schedule on Thursday (10) will feature Franco Colapinto from Alpine, Esteban Ocon from Haas, and Alonso from Aston Martin in the first part. In the second part, Gabriel Bortoleto from Audi, Valtteri Bottas from Cadillac, and Sainz from Williams will participate. The drivers from the four best-placed teams in the constructors’ championship are not part of the FIA press conference schedule and will have other opportunities to speak with the press.

Among the team principals, Mike Krack from Aston Martin, Marcin Budkowski from Cadillac, and Alan Permane from Racing Bulls will be the representatives in the session with journalists. The activity takes place on Friday (11), after a week marked by the confrontation between Flavio Briatore and Andrea Stella.
The press conferences after Q3 and the race will maintain the usual format, with the three fastest drivers in the qualifying session speaking to the press on Saturday, while the top three finishers of the GP will participate in the interview after the Sunday race.
