Martin Brundle believes that the fight for the 2026 Formula 1 season title remains very open after last weekend’s Hungarian GP.

Lando Norris converted pole position at the Hungaroring into a commanding victory with a 15-second lead over the rest of the field. It was his first win of 2026 and he is now 91 points behind Kimi Antonelli, the leader.
“If McLaren has made a significant upgrade that works well on other circuits, this was the team’s 14th win at the Hungaroring, and with the top four increasingly close, this championship is far from over,” Brundle wrote.

“There are still 291 points up for grabs, assuming all remaining races take place, considering the conflict in the Middle East,” he concluded.
