The Formula 1 qualifying for the Italian GP, held on the morning of this Saturday (5), in Monza, ended with Gabriel Bortoleto missing out on Q3 by just 0.001 seconds. The Brazilian from Audi improved his time on the second attempt in Q2 but was eliminated in 12th position after Lewis Hamilton recorded a lap just one thousandth faster. Q1
The Brazilian went out on track with soft tires as soon as allowed. The first fast lap was done in 1min23s248, beating the times from practice with the same tire. Then, he returned to the pits.
He only returned to the track in the last minutes of Q1. This time he managed 1min22s946 and advanced to Q2 in 12th.
Q2
This time Audi took a few minutes to release the driver, again with soft tires. He managed 1min22s566, placing ninth at that moment. Then, he went to the pits.

Bortoleto returned for the last attempt and improved to 1min22s517, but did not secure a spot in Q3, as Lewis Hamilton, from Ferrari, managed 1min22s516.
Although he finished qualifying in 11th, Bortoleto should gain at least one position, as Kimi Antonelli, from Mercedes, advanced to Q3 but has a penalty for an engine change and will start at the back of the grid this Sunday. The start of the Italian GP is scheduled for 10:00 AM.
