Alpine announced this Thursday (17) the hiring of Mike Elliot, coming from Mercedes in Formula 1. The executive takes on the role of technical director to lead and oversee technical and engineering functions at the factory in Enstone.

Elliot returns to the French team, having previously worked from 2008 to 2012 as chief aerodynamicist. The Brit brings experience and expertise, having worked in F1 for 23 years passing through teams such as Renault, McLaren and more recently Mercedes.


In his journey in the premier motorsport category, he contributed to winning eight Constructors’ titles and eight Drivers’ titles. Now, he joins Enstone to strengthen the team’s technical capabilities, which hopes to improve its performance on track and reduce the gap to the top-4 in the championship.

During his time in Formula 1, he worked with champions such as Mika Hakkinen, Kimi Räikkönen, Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, and Nico Rosberg.
