However, the difficult phase will not dictate when he will retire from Formula 1. After all, Alonso made it clear that the time to leave is when he still feels competitive, not when he is already declining and making mistakes.

“This is a gift. Since I returned in 2021, it has been a gift to keep competing and feel competitive. I also want to retire one day, when I feel fast,” he said.
“I don’t want to retire when everyone is beating me, when I feel slow, make mistakes and things like that,” he added.
