Andrea Antonelli commented on how he has been feeling in his second year racing in Formula 1, using expressions like “stronger” and “more in control” while making a brief analysis.

The Mercedes driver faced his debut year in the category in 2025 and managed to get some podiums, but faced a very difficult European leg in the championship.
In 2026 things changed and after three rounds, he won two and is leading the standings with a 22-point advantage over George Russell. “Overall, I think I feel stronger and more in control of the situation,” he said.

“Obviously, having raced on all the tracks last year is definitely helping me this year. Also, having participated in the race weekend also helps, because I know better what to expect. I know better how to move and how to control myself during the weekend,” he continued.

“So, definitely, last year’s experience is playing a key role this year so far. Because, obviously, I feel more relaxed, more confident and, as I said before, more in control of the situation,” he added.
“For sure, this can even help on those tracks where I had a lot of difficulty last year. So, yes, we’ll see. But, obviously, the goal since Miami is to come back from where we left off in Japan, or even come back stronger than when we stopped,” he concluded.
