Current Formula 3 champion and Formula 2 rookie, Brazilian Rafael Câmara was the fastest driver in two of the three days of pre-season testing held this week at the Circuit de Catalunya, in Barcelona. Driving the Invicta Racing team car, Câmara set the fastest lap of the tests at 1min23s252, on Thursday morning.

“I am very happy with the test results. It’s good to be back in the car after a long break. They were positive days in Barcelona and we worked well as a team. We managed to try many different things and understand which direction we want to follow,” says Câmara, who completed 211 laps over the last three days.
The Brazilian driver had already driven the Formula 2 car in tests held in December last year, in Abu Dhabi, when he was also among the fastest. Despite being confident for the debut, the Brazilian driver recalls that the conditions in Spain were very different from those that will be encountered by the drivers at the season opener.

“Obviously, it’s not very representative because of the cold, but I think we are in a good position for the start of the season. We will continue working to be in good shape for Melbourne,” says Câmara, who is a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy.
The 2026 championship will open on March 6, 7, and 8, with the Australian round in Melbourne.
