Leo Sanchez started race 2 of the Interlagos round in the Porsche Cup with a major challenge. Forced to retire from race 1 after being caught in an accident where he was not at fault, the driver had to start the second race in 37º and last place.

But the driver was not intimidated by the pressure and started in a spectacular way. In just one lap, Sanchez gained an incredible ten positions right on the opening lap, moving into 5º in his category. Leo maintained the pace and gained another position on the third lap, when he appeared in 26º overall.
However, the climb was cut short, as the driver suffered contact during the seventh lap, which caused the safety car to enter the track and left him one lap down.

What he said:
“It’s a shame the race ended this way. I was on a roll, gaining many positions and feeling good that I could overtake more drivers. But that’s racing. The most important thing is that the pace the car showed today signals to me that we still have many good moments to experience this season.”
