Marco Bezzecchi secured pole position for the Italian GP, the seventh round of the 2026 MotoGP season. In the final phase of qualifying held on the morning of this Saturday (30) at the Mugello circuit, the Aprilia rider and championship leader recorded his best lap time of 1min43s921, securing the top spot.

Second place went to Raúl Fernández, a Trackhouse Aprilia rider who was beaten by Bezzecchi by 0.224 seconds. The front row also includes Jorge Martin, with the other Aprilia from the official factory team, who will start third. This will be the first time the Italian manufacturer has locked out the front row of a MotoGP grid.
Marc Márquez, back on the grid with Ducati, starts fourth, opening the second row of the grid at Mugello. Fermín Aldeguer starts fifth with a Gresini Ducati, while Francesco Bagnaia, also from the official Ducati team, starts sixth in both this Saturday’s Sprint and the main race on Sunday.
Catalan GP winner Fabio Di Giannantonio starts seventh with a VR46 Ducati, while Diogo Moreira, a Honda rider from LCR, qualified directly to Q2 and starts eighth. Franco Morbidelli, from VR46, was ninth. Pedro Acosta, from KTM, starts tenth, while Enea Bastianini, with a Tech3 KTM, is 11th. Álex Rins, from Yamaha, rounds out the top 12 on the grid.

Currently in the top five of the championship, Ai Ogura fell in the first round of qualifying this morning. The Japanese Trackhouse rider, a satellite team of Aprilia, was the third best in Q1, beaten by Fernández and Acosta, and starts 13th. Another rider eliminated in the initial round was Fabio Quartararo, who will start only 18th with Yamaha.
Shortly, from 10 a.m., the Sprint will be held at Mugello. The Italian MotoGP GP will take place this Sunday (31), starting at 9 a.m.
