Manuel González won this Sunday (17) the Catalonia GP, the sixth round of the 2026 Moto2 season. The Intact GP rider spent most of the race held at the Circuit de Barcelona, Spain, in second position, but overtook Celestino Vietti with three laps remaining to complete the 21 laps of the race, taking the victory.

Second place went to Vietti, who started from pole position on a SpeedRS bike and led most of the race, finishing close to González. Izán Guevara, on a Pramac bike, completed the podium in third place after a good battle with Ivan Ortolá, fourth with the MSI. The top five group also included Daniel Holgado, an Aspar rider.
David Alonso crossed the finish line in sixth place on an Aspar bike, after winning a battle with four riders. Filip Salac, on an American Racing Team bike, was seventh, followed by Alonso López, eighth with Gresini. Luca Lunetta, from SpeedRS, was ninth, while Senna Agius, sixth for most of the race, finished tenth with Intact GP.
The race featured a crash suffered by Collin Veijer with four laps to go. The rider, who started from second position, was only 18th when he fell. Additionally, Joe Roberts retired from the race due to problems with his bike.

After the Catalonia GP, González maintains the lead in the Moto2 championship, totaling 104.5 points, against 86 for Guevara, the runner-up. Vietti is third with 73, followed by Agius, fourth with 65. Alonso, with 58 points, completes the top five after six rounds.
The 2026 Moto2 season will continue on May 31, when the Italian GP will be held, a race scheduled at the Mugello International Circuit.
