Máximo Quiles won this Sunday (17) a thrilling Catalonia GP, the sixth round of the 2026 Moto3 season. The championship leader and Aspar rider had a quiet start at the Circuit de Barcelona, Spain, but caught up with the leading pack and took the first position on the last lap, defending against David Muñoz’s attacks in the final moments to triumph for the fourth time this year.

The second position went to Álvaro Carpe, an Ajo rider who also made a recovery race, finishing 0.094 seconds behind Quiles and just 0.004 seconds ahead of David Muñoz, third with Intact GP after briefly taking the lead on the last corner of the final lap, overtaken by the winner. Brian Uriarte, who led most of the race, was fourth with Ajo, while David Almansa, an Intact GP rider, closed the top 5.
Marco Morelli finished sixth after 18 laps on an Aspar bike, while Hakim Danish, from MSI, crossed the finish line in seventh. Veda Pratam, on a Team Asia bike, finished eighth, with Adrián Fernández, a Leopard Racing rider, in ninth place. The top ten list also included Casey O’Gorman, a rider for SIC58
The race at the Circuit de Barcelona featured few crashes over the 18 laps. Nicola Carraro fell at turn 10 of the Spanish circuit during the fifth lap. On the penultimate lap, Jesús Ríos also crashed at the same corner while in the pack fighting for the win.

After the Catalonia GP, the Moto3 championship lead remains with Quiles, who now has 140 points, against 76 for Fernández, the second-placed rider. Carpe is third with 73, while Morelli and Pratama share fourth place in the championship, each with 58 points after six rounds.
The 2026 Moto3 season will continue on May 31, when the Italian GP will be held, a race scheduled at the Mugello International Circuit.
