Máximo Quiles won this Sunday (10) the tumultuous French GP, the fifth round of the 2026 Moto3 season. In a race held on a wet track in Le Mans and whose duration was reduced from 20 to 13 laps, the Aspar rider was dominant: he took the lead at the start and was never threatened again, securing his third victory of the year in a race marked by many crashes.

Second place went to Adrián Fernández, a Leopard Racing rider who started from pole position but could not keep up with Quiles’ pace. Matteo Bertelle, an MTA rider, was third after starting ninth and completing a long lap. Veda Pratama, from Team Asia, was fourth, with Joel Esteban, from MTA, completing the top five.
Guido Pini, a Leopard Racing rider, finished sixth, ahead of David Almansa, seventh with Intact GP. Eddie O’Shea, from MLav, crossed the finish line in eighth place, while Adrian Cruces, from CIP, was ninth. The top ten list was completed by Hakim Danish, a MSI rider.
The race featured many crashes. Right on the opening lap, Brian Uriarte and David Muñoz fell while facing the wet section of the track. Also on the first lap, Cormac Buchanan also crashed. On the second lap, it was Casey O’Goarman’s turn to fall, after climbing 11 positions at the start of the race, while Valentín Perrone went down shortly after.

The crashes continued, with Joel Kelso slipping in the third sector on the fourth lap, at the same time Niccoló Carraro went down, which also happened to Álvaro Carpe, who entered the weekend as the championship runner-up. On the fifth lap, Marco Morelli fell, plummeting in the standings. Uriarte, the first to fall on the day, went down again on the sixth lap.
On the seventh lap, Jesús Ríos slipped and fell, being the tenth to crash in the race. Scott Ogden fell at turn 3 on the eighth lap of the race. Rico Salmela suffered a high side and also left the race shortly after. With the track conditions improving, there were no more crashes and the race ended without incidents.
The next Moto3 round will be held next Sunday (17), with the Catalan GP taking place at the Circuit de Barcelona.
