Gabriel Bortoleto left satisfied with qualifying for the Sprint race of the Miami GP of Formula 1. On this Friday (1), he regretted not making it to SQ3, but highlighted the potential of the Audi car for the event.

In the time trial for the Sprint race at Hard Rock Stadium, the Brazilian managed to get through to SQ2. Then, with a time of 1min29s994, he will start from 11th position on the grid – his teammate Nico Hülkenberg secured 12th place.
Evaluating the performance in Miami, Bortoleto saw advancing from SQ1 as a victory after a free practice full of problems, so despite wanting more, he was happy with what he achieved.

“A decent qualifying I would say. A shame not to have gone to Q3, I think I had the potential to go, but I am happy that after the first practice we had, I had problems with the car from the first lap, I stayed 30 minutes in the garage because there was a general failure there and we lost all the car data,” he told SporTV.
“It was a TL that I practically didn’t run, I ran very few laps and just to go to qualifying, advance to Q2, do good laps in Q2, I was very happy. So, a shame not to have gone to Q3, I always want more and the car seemed to have the potential to maybe have that little bit. But tomorrow there is more, today was only Sprint Qualy, tomorrow there is qualifying, there is another race, so let’s go for it,” he added.
