The Formula 1 Miami GP Sprint classification brought frustration for Ferrari, and Lewis Hamilton admitted disappointment with the Italian team’s performance after the updates introduced to the car.

Even with a promising start to the weekend, with Charles Leclerc leading FP1, the performance dropped at the decisive moment of SQ3. Leclerc finished only in fourth place, while Hamilton was seventh, highlighting difficulties in the fight for the top positions on the Sprint race starting grid.
“We didn’t know exactly what to expect, but I expected it to be better. The car didn’t seem particularly good,” Hamilton said. The Briton emphasized that the team will have work to understand the drop in performance. “We will need to work overnight to figure out why we are not so fast,” he added.

Leclerc also pointed out inconsistency in the car’s behavior, especially when changing tire compounds. According to him, Ferrari showed good performance with medium tires but lost competitiveness when using softs in SQ3. This compromised the attempt to fight for pole position for the Sprint race.
The Monegasque highlighted that the competition also evolved, with emphasis on Mercedes and McLaren. Still, he believes that race pace can be a strong point for Ferrari, although he recognizes that qualifying session performance remains an area that needs improvement.
