The result is important for the championship, as Gonzalez secured a 1-2 for the team and maintained the lead in the standings. Veijer, who started from pole, completed the podium and achieved his first top-3 of the 2026 season.

The race started with Gonzalez taking the lead, but Veijer reacted quickly to take the lead in the early laps. Agius positioned himself right behind and started to pressure, while several battles in the midfield caused constant changes of position and even incidents between riders.

The decisive moment came on lap 14, when Agius attacked from the inside at turn 8 to take the lead. “It was a very tough battle the whole time, but I knew I needed to seize the opportunity when it appeared,” highlighted the Australian after the race.

Even in the lead, Agius couldn’t open a comfortable gap, with Gonzalez and Veijer staying close until the final lap. “I tried to catch up, but he was very consistent in the last laps,” said Gonzalez, who confirmed the team’s strength over the weekend.

With the result, Agius achieves his first sequence of victories in Moto2 and gains ground in the fight for the championship. Gonzalez remains leader, while Veijer reinforces his good momentum with another solid result this season.
