Lando Norris reflected on his ability to deal with his mental health issues and how that was more important than winning the Formula 1 world championship in 2025.

The McLaren driver has always been quite open about mental health matters, frequently sharing his own experiences and advocating on the subject publicly.
This week, the Briton received the Laureus award, almost the Oscar of sport, in the Breakthrough of the Year category. And in an interview with The Guardian, he said that the trophy has an even greater meaning because of the work in underprivileged communities, “including mental health. When I was younger, I never imagined I would have the opportunity to talk about [mental health].”

“So, realizing how much I can help other people is special. In the long run, that means more than winning a world championship,” he continued.
