The NASCAR Brasil Series has confirmed another name on the 2026 grid: Gui Backes will continue in the category after renewing his contract with MX Vogel. The driver will once again compete in the Brazilian Championship and the Special Edition, maintaining the partnership that yielded good results last season.

Backes arrives boosted by a standout 2025, when he was runner-up in the Special Edition and finished the Overall championship in third place, with victories and a constant presence in the title hunt. The continuity of the work is seen as fundamental to seeking even more expressive results. “The expectation for this season is very positive. MX Vogel proved to be extremely competent in 2025. We had some challenges throughout the year, but the team never stopped dedicating themselves to the maximum. We reached the end of the season winning races, competing for titles, and being very strong. I have no doubt that we can repeat, or even exceed, this performance in 2026,” he says.
The 2026 season will have important news, including the debut of the RISE26 car, which brings significant changes in concept and performance. “The RISE will be a more powerful car, with less weight and a completely different driving style. The first stages will certainly be for adaptation. This combination of more power with less weight will bring even more adrenaline and excitement to the races,” highlights the driver.

Confidence in the MX Vogel structure was also decisive for the renewal. “I will compete in the full season and I strongly believe in this combination with the team. I have always had an excellent relationship with everyone at MX Vogel, engineers, mechanics, and all the staff. I am really looking forward to accelerating, fighting for victories, and taking the team’s name to the highest place on the podium,” he reinforces.
The calendar also excites the driver, who highlights the presence of new and traditional circuits. “I really liked the tracks on the calendar. We will have new circuits, different challenges, which should further increase equality between drivers and make the disputes closer. And of course, we continue racing on incredible tracks like Cascavel, Interlagos, Velocitta, and Curvelo. I am really excited to race on all of them,” he concludes.
