With a show of overtakes, Gabriel Casagrande secures second place on the New Smyrna oval

Three-time Stock Car champion, Gabriel Casagrande was once again a standout in Pro Late Models at New Smyrna, Florida, by taking second place in a race held on the oval circuit this Sunday (8). Competing in one of the feeder categories of American NASCAR and with support from NASCAR Brasil, Casagrande made a recovery race with several overtakes during the 60 laps.

“We got second place in qualifying and that already showed that we would have a very good pace for the race. It was a special race mainly because of the fun. I had started third and had a contact on the fifth lap. I dropped down to 25th, I even thought we had a problem with the car because of the hit, but we managed to get back into the race and then it was a wonderful race where I managed to overtake opponents and move up positions,” explains Casagrande.

“I even believe that if we had a few more laps we could have taken the victory, but I am very happy. I race again on Wednesday and Thursday, so we will have other opportunities to seek the victory,” completes Casagrande.

Casagrande’s first race in the 2026 Brazilian motorsport season will be on March 7 and 8, in Curvelo (MG), at the Stock Car opening.
