Jorge Martín conquered pole position for the Austrian GP, the 15th round of the 2026 MotoGP season. In the final phase of qualifying held on the morning of this Saturday (19) at the Red Bull Ring, the Aprilia rider recorded, in the final minutes, a time of 1min27s917, securing the honor position for this morning’s Sprint and for the main race on Sunday.

The second position on the grid went to Marc Márquez, Ducati rider who was beaten by 0.015 seconds by Martín. Pedro Acosta, who dominated Friday’s practice sessions, completes the front row with KTM. Marco Bezzecchi, on an Aprilia bike, starts from fourth place, opening a second row, which will also have Ai Ogura, with an Aprilia from Trackhouse, and Álex Márquez, with a Ducati from Trackhouse.
Francesco Bagnaia, who passed Q1, starts seventh with Ducati, while Fabio Di Giannantonio, Ducati rider from VR46, took eighth position, just ahead of Fabio Quartararo, ninth with Yamaha. Johann Zarco, with a Honda from LCR, was the tenth fastest, with Brad Binder, from LCR, in 11th. The group of the top 12 on the grid also includes Fermín Aldeguer, with a Ducati from Gresini.
Those who were left out in the initial round and will have to make recovery races are Raúl Fernández. The Aprilia rider from Trackhouse was the third fastest in Q1 and will start only from 13th position in both races of the weekend. Meanwhile, Diogo Moreira, the only Brazilian on the grid, was sixth in the phase that opened qualifying and will start from 16th position with the Honda from LCR.

The session featured a crash. With just over two minutes remaining before the end of qualifying, Álex Márquez fell at turn 1 of the Austrian circuit with the Ducati prepared by Gresini. The yellow flag was deployed at the location but was soon withdrawn.
The Sprint at the Red Bull Ring will take place from 10 a.m. The Austrian MotoGP GP starts from 9 a.m. on Sunday.
