Check out the starting grid for the Sprint of the Madrid round of F2

Formula 2 revealed the starting grid for the Sprint that opens the 11th round of the 2026 season, scheduled for Saturday morning (12) at Madring, a circuit located in Madrid, Spain. The race, which takes into account the inversion of the top ten in qualifying, will have Emmo Fittipaldi on pole position, after the Brazilian from AIX set the tenth fastest time.

Emmo Fittipaldi

Besides Fittipaldi, the front row in the Spanish capital will also feature Ritomo Miyata, a Hitech driver. Noel León, with a Campos Racing car, starts third, sharing the second row with Laurens van Hoepen, a Trident driver who starts fourth. The top five group also includes Roman Bilinski, a Polish driver from DAMS.

Championship leader Nikola Tsolov starts sixth with Campos Racing, while Martinius Stenshorne, with a Rodin car, starts seventh. Points table runner-up Rafael Câmara begins the Sprint from eighth position with Invicta Racing, with Alexander Dunne, from Rodin Motorsport, in ninth. Dino Beganovic, from DAMS, is tenth.

Some drivers lost their laps or did not complete laps in qualifying and will start from the last positions. Nico Varrone, from Van Amersfoort, and Kush Maini, from ART Grand Prix, lost their best laps after causing red flags due to accidents and start 19th and 20th, respectively. Sebastian Montoya also crashed but did not complete laps, and starts 21st with Prema.

There is also the case of Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, a driver from ART Grand Prix. The Thai driver crashed during the free practice held on Friday morning and saw the car consumed by flames for just over two minutes. The team was unable to rebuild the car in time for qualifying and, therefore, the driver will start 22nd and last in both races.
