The rain added an extra touch to the Porsche Cup in Interlagos. On the morning of this Saturday (4), with the drastic weather change in São Paulo, Marçal Müller made good use of the conditions and secured the pole positions for the Carrera Cup weekend.

After almost 1 hour of delay, the class qualifying finally started in Interlagos. Although the sky began to clear, the drivers still had to go out with wet condition tires as the asphalt was still very wet.
Due to all the schedule changes caused by the weather conditions, the race direction made an important change to the qualifying format: all Carrera category drivers enter the track and will have 30 minutes to set their times.
In fact, this will define the grids for both race 1 and race 2. The best lap determines the starting position for the Sunday race and the second best lap for the Saturday race.
As soon as the pits opened, some drivers left the pit lane. Matheus Comparatto was the first to go out and accelerate, followed by Antonella Bassani. Meanwhile, other names waited for the track conditions to improve.
At the moment, Flavio Sampaio was the fastest on the track with 1min49s830, followed by Rouman Ziemkiewicz, Comparatto, and Bassani. Then, Cristian Mohr jumped to the top.
With just over ten minutes completed, Mohr was the fastest in the pack with 1min48s617. Meanwhile, in third, Peter Ferter had the second-best lap with 1min49s221.
With a little more than 11 minutes remaining to the checkered flag, a red flag was necessary due to Flavio Sampaio, who was stopped in the escape area. Meanwhile, Miguel Paludo and Marçal Müller, who had not yet set laps, positioned themselves to leave the pits at the reopening.

The order at the moment was Rouman as the fastest, with Mohr, Morestoni, Ferter, and Bassani completing the top five positions.
Pits opened and now all drivers were leaving the pits to try to fight for the pole positions of the Interlagos stage. Now, although the track was in better condition, it was also much busier.
For now, Ziemkiewicz held both pole positions of the Carrera Cup, as he had the best lap with 1min48s425 and the second with 1min48s8, but that would not last long.
When Müller, the championship leader, completed his fast lap, he placed himself as the fastest in the pack and therefore with the pole for Sunday. The Porsche #544 competitor recorded 1min47s828 to take the lead of the pack.
Then, on his new lap, Marçal secured not only the Sunday pole but also that of Saturday, making a double honor position for the weekend with laps of 1min47s8 and 1min48s4. And Rouman, who was in second, spun on the track but did not collide and still had a little more than two minutes until the end.
With qualifying ended, Marçal Müller indeed took the double pole for the Porsche Cup stage in Interlagos.
