Driver who is part of the Ferrari Driver Academy program, Rafael Câmara secured pole position for the tenth round of the 2026 Formula 2 season. In the qualifying session held on the morning of this Friday (4) at the Monza National Circuit in Italy, the Brazilian from Invicta Racing took the lead on his first flying lap, with a time of 1min31s326, which was not beaten by rivals for the rest of the session.

The result marks the fifth time Câmara will start from pole position in ten rounds of Formula 1’s main feeder category. In addition to starting in front in Italy, the owner of car number 1 started from pole position in the rounds at Monaco, Barcelona, Silverstone, and Spa-Francorchamps.
“It was a good pole position after the summer break. I will start in front and that is good. I feel good. I think Monza always brings a tough qualifying. We did a good lap on the first attempt, which made us more relaxed on the second lap. So, I am very happy, also for the team with P1 and P2. It is a good start to the weekend, but that doesn’t mean much now. We need to focus on the right things and the races,” said Rafael Câmara right after qualifying.

The pole position obtained in Monza is also important for Câmara’s championship. With the two points earned for pole position, the Brazilian equals the points of the championship runner-up. Compared to the leader of the standings, the gap has dropped to 20 points.
F2 will have the Sprint race this Saturday (5), starting at 9:15 AM, while the main race will be held this Sunday, starting at 4:45 AM. Sportv, Globoplay, and F1TV will broadcast the races live.
