Brazilian Matheus Ferreira returned to the podium of the Porsche Supercup in Zandvoort, Netherlands, the venue for two races this past weekend. The driver of car 27 finished fourth in Saturday’s race, also closing in the top 10 overall, and secured the podium this Sunday with third place in the Rookie category.

“Sunday’s race was a bit chaotic. My start was very good and the first lap as well. There was a safety car and then the race was fiercely contested until the checkered flag. We move on to the final stage of the Supercup in two weeks.
Driver for Team GP Elite, Matheus is fourth in the rookie championship with 42 points earned. Besides Zandvoort, the Brazilian also reached the Supercup podium at Hungaroring, Spa-Francorchamps, and Monaco, being the second-best driver representing a country outside Europe in the overall championship.

The Porsche Supercup holds its races as a preliminary event to Formula 1, and the last of the eight championship stages will be held in Monza, Italy, on September 6.
