Drive to Survive fans can rest assured: this Monday (24), Formula 1 confirmed the ninth season of the documentary series for 2027 on Netflix.

The production premiered in 2019 on the streaming service portraying the stories of the previous year, 2018. Since then, eight seasons have been released telling the main events that happen on and off the tracks – or almost that.
Now, F1 has confirmed another year of the series filmed during the stages of a championship. In a brief post on its social networks, it published a poster with the caption “Formula 1: Drive to Survive returns to Netflix for season 9 in 2027.”

However, no other major details were shared such as the premiere date or the number of episodes.
James Gay-Rees and Paul Martin, executive producers of Box to Box, responsible for the series, spoke about the excitement in continuing the series. “We are very excited to produce the 9th season of this iconic series. This year, we will dive deeper than ever behind the scenes of this fantastic sport,” they said.
