Roman Stanek secures Formula 2 pole position in Abu Dhabi

Roman Stanek secured pole position for the main race of the 2025 Formula 2 season finale. In the qualifying session held this Friday morning (5) at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, the Invicta driver recorded a best lap of 1min36s836, remaining unbeaten by his rivals.

Second place went to Jak Crawford, a DAMS driver who was edged out by 0s087 by Stanek. This year’s season champion, Leonardo Fornaroli, will start from third position with Invicta, sharing the second row with Dino Beganovic, fourth with Hitech. The top five group on the grid will also include Sebastian Montoya from Prema.

Oliver Goethe, in an MP Motorsport car, will start from sixth position, while Victor Martins of ART Grand Prix took seventh place, sharing the fourth row with Joshua Durksen, eighth with AIX Racing. Nikola Tsolov and Arvid Lindblad, both Campos Racing drivers, complete the top ten list. The new Racing Bulls F1 driver starts from pole in the Sprint.
